Community

Spaghetti with Friends in a Field: Summer 2022 was spent in rural Massachusetts. Spaghetti night was one of many dinner party concepts centered around the noble question: how many people can we really fit around my dining room table? And what happens if you put that table in the middle of a field? Dinners were multigenerational, the food all homemade by me and helping friends, often filled with intimate conversation, and sometimes filled with the full moon rising over a field.

Hifi Snock Uptown: Underground arts collective fostering a genre-agnostic, open space for the community to celebrate student musicians.

The Cricket at Columbia University: Event series focused on celebrating the art and craft of live, theme-based storytelling (inspired by The Moth). I am one of the lead organizers and also often share my writing.

cOntrOl frEaks at WBAR (Barnard’s freeform radio): WBAR is the college radio station of Barnard College and was developed in the early 1990s as a freeform alternative to WKCR-FM on the Columbia University campus. cOntrOl frEaks is the show that I ran with my best friend (pictured) about the NYC music scene. Biweekly we paired band interviews with a collaborative playlist of their inspirations, exposing the Columbia community to up-and-coming NYC artists. Off weeks are an ode to the precursors of the New York City music scene. Listen up, listen in, lose control. Archives here!

Poetry at ADP: poetry from a semester of poetry workshop hosted by Alex Dimitrov on display at a student art showcase at Columbia’s literary society.
